2016 was the first year I managed to get myself organised for Inktober. I decided to illustrate sayings.
After putting a few of these up with the sayings, my friend Mick said it would be better if he could guess them. So I began to put them up without captions (answers below). NB. I’ve since coloured some of the ink drawings. (more…)
Each year, the little Somerset town I live in has a week long festival. As part of that festival, local artists, like my friend, Paul Newman, exhibit their work. He works almost exclusively in pencil and draws from some of the best scenery in the West Country.

I was recently invited to teach cartooning to a class of 25 seven to nine year olds and I went along to the school yesterday. We did a workshop on character design (specifically superheroes) and I was amazed to see how original and diverse their creations were. It was just as inspiring for me as it was for them AND I got to learn how to use one of those new-fangled whiteboards. (more…)
