When I was planning FAB, I was going to be living in New Zealand when the book came out. I wanted to take the book around schools and libraries and book stores, as I think that is the only way to launch a children’s book by an unknown author. But (long story), we decided to stay another year in Spain, so that put a bit of a spanner in the works. (more…)
Early this summer, we spent a couple of weeks driving along the northern coast of Spain as far as A Coruña. It’s a working town, lacking the glamour of San Sebastian, or Barcelona. However, it has great food and wine, a surf beach and a huge waterfront path. We walked it from the beach past the Roman lighthouse and down to the old town. The last part was lined with peach-coloured lampposts from the mid nineties, each of which had 4 ceramic (oops – enamel – thanks, Verónica!) works of art.
