High-line Park NYC

One of the most fun things we did in Manhattan was go to the High-Line Park on the Lower West Side. Local residents banded together to stop an elevated rail track (last used in 1980) from being demolished. Instead they have transformed it into an elevated city oasis, with plantings, water features and beautiful design.

The park goes from about 12th St to 20th, but a big extension is planned

there are artworks like this coloured glass that represents the view over the Hudson

We popped out in one of NYC's newer cool neighbourhoods
